Academy Newsletter

Welcome to the Academy of Charms and Charmings' third newsletter. We have a few very exciting announcements to make in this edition of the newsletter so without further delay let's jump right in!
Can You Beat The Game?
The Academy is proud to announce that our video game is finally up and running! Hooray! Try your hand at That's Charming: The Game! and see if you can defeat the four levels as well as the boss at the end. I'll warn you though, that third level is a little tricky. I'm the Headmaster of this school and I haven't even reached the fourth level, so if you do be sure to email us your final score so we can place you on the leaderboard - we will be creating a new page for the leaderboard and it will be wiped on the first of each month.
The Montegrappa Competition!
In an effort to make That's Charming really stand out from the crowd in this competition, the Academy has enlisted the help of the wonderful team at Cornerstones Literary Consultants to give a report on our story. With this report our lovely author friend will be able to focus her editing and hopefully in a few months we will be able to give you a wonderful update that our story has made it through to the second round!
Website Abandonment!
I understand that it may seem as though we have abandoned our lovely website here, but fear not! We have all had a very busy couple of weeks and now that is over, we will be endeavoring to keep this website as up to date as possible. Our Academy portrait artist has mysteriously gone missing so the first thing we'll be doing is hunting him down so we can finally unveil all of our lovely staff pages!
I must always thank you for your interest at the end of every newsletter. Without your support, we would not be able to achieve anything here at our Academy. Thank you all so much.
The Headmaster
Welcome to the Academy of Charms and Charmings' second newsletter. We do apologise for the lack of information over the last few weeks, the Academy has been having some technical issues after our maintenance worker thought he would 'improve the system' with a potion that just fried it instead.
The Lack Of Competition!
Unfortunately, due to lack of entries, the competition was sadly cancelled. We do regret that this happened, but we can't force people to enter - unless we set the unruly dragons on them and we don't want to do that. This means that we have no lovely pictures to post on a new page and no winner for the Academy Style Portrait.
Competition Spirit!
As no one wanted to enter our competition, the Academy has decided to enter a competition ourselves. The novel that is based on our lovely school and students is going to be entered into the Montegrappa/Scholastic Prize for New Children's Writing. The deadline for entry is June 2nd and we will keep you informed as to our progress within the competition.
High Score!
As some of you may have already seen from our super secret page, someone was kind enough to make us a very simple That's Charming game! As soon as we get over a technical glitch - not caused by our maintenance man this time - we will have it up and running on a new page for everyone to enjoy and try to get the high score and be entered into the Academy Hall of Fame each month.
Thank you once again for taking an interest in the Academy of Charms and Charmings, as well as the novel That's Charming. We appreciate the support that you are so wonderfully offering to us.

Welcome to the Academy of Charms and Charmings' first newsletter. With these newsletters, we seek to keep everyone up to date with the progress of the website, the goings on at the school, any exciting opportunities that arise, and more.
Win An Academy Style Portrait!
For our first edition of the newsletter, we thought a competition was a great way to kick things off! We would like to see what YOU think the Academy of Charms and Charmings looks like. If you were our architect, what would you build for us? The winner will be chosen by our fantastic members of staff - the Headmaster, the Oracle, and the Department Heads. The top six designs - the winner and five runners up - will be displayed on this website on a special page for everyone to see!
We are so looking forward to seeing what you design for us. Perhaps it will even look better than the school we have!
To enter this competiton, simply draw your design and take a picture. Send the picture to me - the Headmaster - at this email. Remember to include your name, age, and town with your entry! The deadline for competition entries is March 29th. Winners will be announced in the April 5th newsletter.

The Academy's Getting Some Print!
Recently, a young woman approached me claiming to be a writer and asking if she could follow the story of a student in their final year at the Academy. I was overjoyed to think of the publicity that this would bring for our school. This young writer has chosen to follow Charles Charming as he completes his fourth year at the Academy - she told me that she picked him for the very reason that he is the first student ever in the history of the Academy to stay behind a fourth year. Special circumstances surrounding that one. You can find out about the writer here and the upcoming book here.
If you would like to read the beginning of Charles' adventure, you can download the first chapter from here.
The novel is currently in the revision stage and is likely to be completed by the end of this month. It still has a long way to go before publication, but we are excited to share the first chapter with you at this time.

Website Update!
As you can tell, the website is still very much under construction, but a lot of work has been done behind the scenes! We have several staff member profiles completed, several photographs already taken, and there are even some class information pages completed too! We have plans to get a current students page up and running as well. Trust that we are working hard to make this website look sparkling for you all. Your patience is so greatly appreciated.
